Red Wines from Portugal
BACKGROUND
All Portugal’s wines are made generally from indigenous grape types, posing some slight puzzle for consumers expecting more commonly encountered grapes. However Portuguese Red Wines offer individuality and therefore interest in a world dominated by well known varietals.
The Douro area particularly is now gaining a reputation for producing red wines as well as Port and our CHARAMBA offers a high standard for a modest outlay. Our delicious fruity DÃO QUINTA DE CABRIZ is made by what was probably the first and most original of the New Wave Wineries of the eighties in Portugal.
