Beaujolais wines are still reputed as the light young and refreshing Red Wines of France. They are often considered as part of the Burgundy region, in fact they are produced from just one grape type, the Gamay, which flourishes on the granitic hillsides of the SaŰne valley. Red Burgundy is made with the Pinot Noir grape only.
Nowadays the young style is less highly regarded. It has been followed by an improved appreciation of the quality and interest that mature wines can provide. Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France, enhances their reputation further. These wines can magically transform themselves into something indistinguishable from Pinot Noir such as our MOULIN A VENT.
