Well balanced wine of harmonious, deep style yet rather elegant. The advantage of very old vines is ably demonstrated in this wine's fullness of flavour with enough fruit to offset the short barrel ageing. Capable of revealing yet a little more with further time in bottle this wine is considered well priced for this quality.
The domaine has vines which average 55 years of age, which makes them some of the oldest of the Southern Côte de Beaune. Santenay, though little known, is in fact situated right next door to Chassagne Montrachet. |
