AVAILABILITY

 If a certain vintage is essential to your order then please advise us at the time of placing your order in the 'vintages' box of the secure order form. Otherwise vintages may 'follow on' subject to similar prices and quality.

 All items are offered subject to availability. In the unlikely event of the short supply of any lines this will be advised by email for your approval before payment. Except only..

 For the mixed case special offers we reserve the right to substitute a wine of similar quality and price should any wine become short.

DESPATCH

 We endeavour to despatch all goods within 24 hours of receiving your order (though of course depending on when you place your order it may take up to 48 hours for us to receive it.)

 If for any reason we are unable to despatch your order within 1 working day of receiving it we will contact you by email within this time to inform you of the expected delivery schedule. (Around Bank Holidays, particularly Easter and End of Year periods you may have to allow us a little longer.) Note that if you prefer to pay by cheque the procedure will be different - see here.

FOR DELIVERIES WITHIN THE BRITISH ISLES

 Your complete and accurate postcode is always essential for our deliveries. If you are unsure of it, there is a connection to the Streetmap website at the bottom of our links page here. Or direct to the Royal Mail here.

 Should you prefer to receive your delivery on a specific day of the week (Monday to Friday) within our mainland delivery area - that's everywhere except the postcodes below (click here) - you can request this in the 'other information' box when you place your order, but please leave us adequate lead time to achieve this! A selection of 'time of day' delivery times is available for most postcode areas at extra charge. Any doubts please enquire of us by email. With increasing congestion, distribution timetables cannot unfortunately be absolutely guaranteed. Nonetheless every possible effort will be made to comply with delivery requirements.

 For orders of less than one dozen bottles to one UK mainland address, except to the Northern Highland Postcodes, there is a delivery charge within the UK mainland of £9.99 including VAT per consignment, as we need to reflect the additional labour and packaging that is required for small consignments.

 For orders of one dozen bottles or more to one address, except to the Northern Highland Postcodes, there is a delivery charge within the UK mainland of £6.99 including VAT per consignment.

 Offshore and 'Far North' UK destinations are likely to incur an extra charge - currently only the Isle of Wight can be serviced at 'mainland' prices. For the Scilly Isles and Northern Ireland there is a straight supplement of £7.50 per consignment. The Isle of Man and Channel Islands are £14.99 per dozen bottles (or part). Northern Scottish Highlands, Orkney, Shetland and offshore Scottish islands are £14.99 for the first dozen bottles or part and £8 per dozen bottles or part thereafter (we try to find a way to waive this supplement for the second dozen or more if the order is for more than £249). Normal delivery times for these areas are within 3 working days of despatch. For delivery to Southern Ireland (RoI) the charge is £19.95 per dozen bottles (or part).

 Goods for UK postcodes - except the 'Far North' postcodes (below) and all BT, GY, JE and IM postcodes - are despatched on overnight weekday delivery. (Although over 95% of our next day deliveries arrive before lunchtime they can take place throughout the day particularly for Scottish Postcodes outside the Central Belt. For home addresses at peak periods deliveries can be made up until about 8pm.
To keep you advised we will normally email you on the day of despatch so you know which day the delivery is scheduled for, or to confirm despatch if you have chosen a specific day.

 Customers in the Highlands of Scotland (click here for the postcodes involved) should allow extra time for delivery. Unfortunately a specific delivery day is not currently achieveable in these postcodes without extra cost. Please note too that in these areas where a signature cannot be obtained from the addressee or a neighbour then generally the order will be retained at a local Post Office.

 If you require delivery to an address other than your credit card statement address it is helpful if you can indicate the landline telephone number of the card statement address. Please be aware that omission of this information can cause delay, as it may be a requirement for card processing prior to despatch.

WE WILL ADVISE YOU BY EMAIL WHEN WE DESPATCH YOUR GOODS AND THEN:

 Our couriers will undertake to leave goods without a signature ONLY if specifically instructed. Please be sure to advise us in the 'other details' box on the secure order form if you are happy for your goods to be left in a garage, greenhouse or with the neighbours at number 26!

 If, when required, a signature cannot be obtained our couriers will place a card through the letterbox to indicate they have attempted delivery and they will probably try the next day or may ask you to contact them with a view to delivering at another time. There are usually no more than two delivery attempts made, so please do be sure to contact the courier - or if this is difficult just email us here.

 If you do not receive your order on the day or within the time we have advised (or receive a card from the couriers, whose name we will have indicated) please contact us by email as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours.

 Please check goods at time of delivery and report any discrepancies both by signing the courier's receipt appropriately, and to us by email within 24 hours so that we can resolve the problem promptly.

 If you find that you require delivery to an alternative UK address because delivery to the original address was not possible, please note that, unless this is geographically very close, a further delivery charge is likely to be incurred.

DELIVERY ON SATURDAYS

 is available for the majority of mainland UK but these attract a supplementary fee (in addition to the standard delivery charge) as follows:
Saturday delivery prior to 10.30am £38.95
Saturday delivery by midday £16.97

Saturday delivery in the Northern Highland Mainland & Island Postcodes below, where possible at all, is by quotation only.

NORTHERN HIGHLAND MAINLAND AND ISLAND POSTCODES

 where pricing is standard but additional time for delivery should be allowed, are the following: AB31-38, AB40-56
 where pricing is at the ‘highland and island’ rate and additional time for delivery should be allowed are: HS, IV, KA27-8, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, ZE. Where these are mainland postcodes one extra day is generally sufficient. For island postcodes two extra days is the norm. Leaving goods unsigned for in these highland and island postcode areas is also often not possible. We therefore suggest you nominate a neighbour in case you are not in. Otherwise the delivery is generally left at a local Post Office. In both cases you should be advised by card of the delivery's whereabouts. If timing is important please be aware that in these areas this is likely to come at extra cost.

DELIVERY OUTSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM & BRITISH ISLES

 Delivery to mainland Europe (and even further afield) is a regular feature of our work but naturally this is at extra cost. A short summary of delivery costs for selected EU destinations follows:

 Belgium , Denmark , Eire , France (except Corsica), Germany , Luxembourg , Netherlands £19.95 per dozen bottles or part.

 Austria , Czech Republic , Finland , Italy (except Islands), Hungary , Poland , Portugal , Spain , Sweden £27.50 per dozen bottles or part.

 Bulgaria , Cyprus , Estonia , Greece , Latvia £39.50 per dozen bottles or part.

 For unlisted or non EU countries and rest of the World – you will need to email us for a quote. You should note that consignments containing alcohol sent to countries outside the European Union may incur customs duty in the destination country. As EU members are getting quite numerous we have helpfully listed the members at the bottom of the gifts page (click here).

 Please also remember that some countries, notably the USA and Canada, will not allow alcohol into the country unless it is going to a nominated and registered importer.
