Wine of a deep red colour. Warm, attractive, slightly 'plummy' style, with quite a rounded, velvety palate. Slightly sweet with dryness on the finish. Amarone Valpolicella has lightened its character and is, nowadays, much more a wine of finesse.
A surprisingly balanced wine in spite of its 15% alcohol. Made from late harvested, ripe grapes, which are then 'raisined' in drying rooms with further ageing in French oak barrels. |
